Talk to Me.

“Best Comedy”

★★★★

“A memorable short comedy which will certainly get laughs.”

Reality bends as our protagonist, April, struggles to differentiate what's real and what's a joke. Her patience is tested as the absurdity of the evening unravels around her.

This quirky and abstract comedy from directors Julian Guerrieri & Farhan Kamdar is a fun and memorable idea that leaves you wanting more. The story is bizarre and unique, giving the actors plenty to work with especially the strange twist at the end.

The cast of Jack Whyte, Kati Nugent and Julian Guerrieri are great, working off each other well to create plenty of awkward laughs. The script is simple, but the actors make it their own. They all seem to have a maturity about their performances which stand out and is great to see. There is a sense of familiarity between them which definitely adds to the authenticity of the film.

It reminds us of situational humour like Arrested Development and The Office which is inspiring to see. The setting also adds to the humour if you pay close attention to the shabby props and uncomfortable extras that fill the scene. Short comedy films are difficult to make but Talk to Me manages to deliver in its relatively short duration.

The production all works well although isn’t a key part of the film to pay attention to. The film has a low budget look to it which may well help with its style of comedy.

Guerrieri & Kamdar have created a memorable short comedy which will certainly get laughs and get you wondering about the subtle meaning behind the story. Unless of course that’s all part of the joke…
