“This is a music video that will be hard to forget!”

Recluse in the depths of his countryside, in a large, cold and dreary house, saw a man. Seeming to fill his loneliness through his passion for dolls, what is really hiding in Monnier's head ? Or in his house ?

This chilling and almost disturbing music video from director Mathieu Dubourg is a fantastic piece which seamlessly works with the music. It’s reminiscent of music videos of the early 2000s in that it captures a compelling narrative which uses the music as a backdrop instead of feeling unnecessary or out of place.

First thing’s first, the visuals are stunning and look of a high standard. Straight away you get a sense that' you’re watching a well produced music video which in turn elevates the music itself. Camera operator Elliot Lepage manages to craft a cinematic and main stream quality look to the video which will still look as gorgeous in years to come. Every shot has purpose and works to tell the story. It’s clear that a lot of time and effort went into the production of this.

The setting of the music video couldn’t work any better and is used to its fullest. The interior and exterior scenes are all captured with complete precision and know how.

The music from Myosis is sombre and melancholy with a sense of deep emotion, and all of that comes across on-screen from a chilling performance from our lead actor ‘Christophe Vautier’. He manages to create a sense of chaos, sadness and psychosis all in one and only becomes more so as the film continues.

This is a great example of creating a video to compliment the music and feel part of it. It’s clear that both filmmaker and artist were on the same page when developing the project. This is a music video that will be hard to forget!
